The City of St. Petersburg collects live Christmas trees for free. For the 2025–26 season, the city picked trees up by request only between December 29 and February 9. You submit a photo through the SeeClickFix app or call Sanitation at (727) 893-7398, then set the tree where your trash is normally collected, at the curb or in the alley, before 7 a.m. Do not lean it on poles or trash containers, and do not put it in a bin.
Trees must be completely bare: no lights, ornaments, garland, stands or bags. Apartment and condo residents are asked to check with their property managers. If you want to drop it off yourself, the city runs five brush sites open daily 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (closed New Year's Day): 1000 62nd Ave. NE, 7750 26th Ave. N, 2500 26th Ave. S, 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St. S and 2453 20th Ave. N. Bring a photo ID and a water bill.
The city's Christmas tree program changes from season to season. Some years it has been a single citywide collection day in January, and for 2025–26 it was by request. Confirm the current rules at stpete.org before you count on it.
Call us if you want the tree gone on a set day, if it is a big tree, if there are stairs or a long carry, if you live in a building where the city will not collect, or if you missed the city's window. We send one flat price from a photo and it does not change at the truck.
Have more than a tree to clear out after the holidays? See our junk removal cost guide or our St. Petersburg junk removal page. Outside St. Pete? See Christmas tree removal across Pinellas County.
